Telegraph asks legislators to override veto

"Gov. John Lynch said all the right things last week," this Nashua telegraph editorial begins.  It then quotes liberally from Lynch's veto message and reaches this conclusion: "But there are no words, however expertly strung together, that can alter one simple fact: The governor never had any intention of allowing this bill to become law as long as he inhabited the corner office."

Frankly, this is one of the best editorials I've ever read.  It ends with a passionate plea for legislators to override the veto:

This is one of those votes that should have nothing to do with whether you are a Democrat or a Republican; a liberal or a conservative; tough on crime or soft on crime.

No, this is one of those votes that should have everything to do with who you are as a human being and whether you can find it in yourself to put the political rhetoric aside and do the humanitarian thing.
